I have a potential new client who wants to set up a Virtuemart store with multiple sellers, selling on commission. I would like to know if the Affiliate Tracker could be used as a way to manage the seller accounts. I can make any customization necessary to either Virtuemart or the Affiliate Tracker code, in order for the product purchases to result in a 5% commission added to the seller accounts.

thanks,
JC

Well, affiliate is not for that exactly, but that doesn't mean you can't use it for that, specially if you can modify code and you know how.

you want every sale from a vendor to be "reflected" in their affiliate account as a 5% commission? is that it? (regardless wether the same came from an affiliate link or not)?

Yes, I'm a seasoned PHP programmer ... can modify code.

you want every sale from a vendor to be "reflected" in their affiliate account as a 5% commission? is that it? (regardless wether the same came from an affiliate link or not)?

Yes... it would be a multi-seller online store, with the sellers each having an account – using the affiliate accounts as the seller accounts. There would be no actual affiliate links from other websites to my client's site. Essentially, it would be like simulating affiliate links *inside of* my client's site (Virtuemart).

How difficult of a modification do you think this would be?

    much thanks,
    JC

    hello,

well, you would need to create a new plugin that would track every VM sale and assign a commission to the apropiate Affiliate Tracker account.

If you're interested, our custom coding team can be hired to develop this for you, too.

Creating a plugin is too much overhead for me, and neither can I hire your team. What I'm talking about would need to be a hack.

then no, I'm sorry. You require more coding than just "a hack".
