Hello,

I am at an early stage of the development so i have no direct experience of the extension yet. I wanted to ask if Affiliate Tracker Pro is aware of the subscriptions that get refunded in order to NOT apply commissions? Also the same for free trials? I am going to be using Membership pro for the subscriptions.

Thank you for the clarifications

    Hello again,

I am sorry, my reply wasn't correct. As long as the log entry is not manually deleted, the behaviour will be:

AT will create a commission of 0% for the first month when a client subscribes coming from an affiliate link because the first month is free.
When the next month the user renews the subscription, a commission will be created for the affiliate and so on for the next coming months because the log will still be in the database and the system will know that the client came from an affiliate.

So your message is correct. This is what will happen.

I might have not understood your reply, or maybe my question was very unclear. Please let me ask this way:

I am using membership pro, integrated by the plugin. I sell monthly auto-recurring subscriptions, which include 1 month free trial. So when a new user follows an affiliate link and subscribes, A.T. is supposed to:
    a) know that the first month is free (trial), so no % commission there for the affiliate. The affiliates get paid a percentage of the amount that is paid by the user.
    b) next month when subscription auto-renews (monthly recurring payment), and for as long as it is active, it adds a % commission to the affiliate account.

Is the above correct? I am reminding that i am also using membership pro which handles the recurring payments for the subscriptions.

About the free trials, there is no way to remember if the trial was created coming from an affiliate link or not and if the user renews the subscription, create the conversion for the corresponding affiliate. AT creates a conversion when a user that comes from an affiliate link buys a new subscription and assingns to it the corresponding part of the total gross amount of the value of the new subscription.

About your second question, if a user is a returning customer, if he/she doesn't return through a valid affiliate link, the original affiliate will not get credit for the new subscription.

    Thank you,
    Joan

    Thank you for the reply.

What about free trials? Does A.T. know that e.g. the first month is a free trial?
Also what happens if a valid lead (subscription) returns at a later point as a return customer (new subscription after a previous expiration or cancellation), does the original affiliate still get credit for this new subscription?

    Thank you for the information

    Hello,

At this moment Affiliate tracker creates a conversion when a new subscription is created, but if the subscription is refunded affiliate tracker doesn't delete the conversion automatically. You should delete them manually.

    Thank you,
    Joan
