Tracking ZOO Frontpage menu items

0
I have a site using ZOO, and I can use Content Statistics to track item and category views, but cant find a way to do that for frontpage.

We created a custom layout where the most recent item in that app goes on the frontpage, and the only way to get to previous items, with one item per page, is to hit buttons or go to an archive menu.

So for today as an example, this link: http://wrightson.com/federal-reserve/overnight-funding-monitor and this link: http://wrightson.com/federal-reserve/overnight-funding-monitor/daily-gcf-repo-forecasts-914

are the same item.

Tomorrow this link this link: http://wrightson.com/federal-reserve/overnight-funding-monitor will have tomorrows item, and the one from today wont be accessible from this frontpage.

We would like a way to be able to track number of hits on this main page.

Thanks so much I hope I was able to explain my issue!

    Hi Germinal,

    Apologies for the delay.

I have a copy of the site in development:

    http://joomladesignstudios.co/wrightson/login

    please use:

    joomlathat
    joomlathat

If you could substitute the three links for these, then you can see what I mean. Thanks so much!

    hello!

sorry I didn't see your post until right now..

I'm not quite sure to understand the issue tho. You say that views don't get counted when displayed in the homepage.. is that it?

    Hi Germinal,

    No problem.

    So the federal-reserve/overnight-funding-monitor

menu type is a ZOO Category. But the ZOO item that goes on that page ever day changes. So today, it would be great to be able to see how many visitors we have to that page. So in this case /federal-reserve/overnight-funding-monitor/daily-gcf-repo-forecasts-895 was an item created on Feb 2nd (this is a copy of the site, so there is nothing new on it since Feb 2). On this day, anyone who views this item will view it on the category page, and moving forward, then it would move to the archive and be visible only with the the /daily-gcf-repo-forecasts-895.

    ok, understood.

so this is a CATEGORY page, but you want to count actually as if it where an ARTICLE page (because there's 1 article shown on the category page)

is that it? if it is, then this cannot be achieved with the plugin "as is", because it only sees the "category page" (it doesn't know that you actually are using the category page to show an article). the system is not "that smart".

some custom coding would be necessary to actually allow the system to count this as an article hit instead of a category hit...
