Streaming from another Server

0
Hi,
I did not understand already, how to stream my music from another server. I want to store my songs in a cloud server, where I have different types of access: FTP, SFTP, WebDAV (what creates an URL either with https or http).
I succeed to get the songs from there (but without any folders or subfolders), but in that case, they are not streamed but Musicol takes it only from there and stores it again into my Webserver.
What would be the right way, to only point to the songs and let them be played from the cloud hosting.
The cloud hosting is my own online harddrive, no amazon dropbox or that kind.
Would it be possible to keep a folder structure?

Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure I understand your current disposition..
to stream from an external server, you just need to place the link on the song (for example: http://www.externalserver.com/song.mp3 )

or, you can set the "external server" path in the MC parameters, if all the songs are going to be in the same server.
this way, you can set this parameter to "http://www.externalserver.com/" for example, and then in the song form you just need to place the filename: song.mp3

    Hi,

Thank you. And the filename I have to put manually for every song?
And can I organize them in subfolders?

    Hi again,
it works with storing the songs on webDAV. The only issue is, that I will have to Login to my webdav in every session. Is there any way to avoid that, e.g by providing the login by the script itself?

    Thanks

    Hi,

meanwhile I succeded to connect with the password protected URL by formatting the URL in this way: assword@servername.com/subfolder">https://username:password@servername.com/subfolder.

That let my users connect to the password-protected Server. I do not know, if that is secure, but my website will only be open for few people.

What I did not succeed was to put the Domain into the field in the configuration. It simply does not work, when I put the domain there and in the song`s path I would only put the subfolder and audiofile data. I always have to provide the complete URL.
Would be nice, if this procedure would be a bit more comfortable. This way, putting everything manually by copy/paste takes a lot of time.

    Hi,

meanwhile I succeeded to access the password protected server by formatting the URL in this way: assword[at]server.com/subfolder">http://username:password[at]server.com/subfolder.
I don`t know if that could be a security issue, but my site will at all open to only a few people.

What up to now did not work is, providing the serverpath in the configuration. It simply does not connect at all. I have to put always the complete URL into the filed for the music-file, what takes a lot of time.
Would be nice to have there a more convenient solution.

    Hi,

By the way: strange behaviour of this forum here. I edited my last post, because using the [at] symbol caused that strange appearance of my post. After editing it deleted your answer????

Well, I put the URL in the above mentioned way for the server, the songs-path is still /songs. If I delete /songs it will appear again after saving.
