J1.6 Multilanguage Support?

Now that J1.6 integrates some multilanguage content manager, I'm wondering if this addon can be used the same way.

I'm planning an English-Spanish site and would like to publish artist content in both languages.

So, I'm wondering if the 1.6 version of this addon can do that

Thanks

which add-on are you talking about?

we have a JOOMFISH add-on that allows exactly what you want. is that what you're talking about? :)

No, with the new Joomla you establish Content Languages, this means you can publish the same content and establish which language it will use, depending on the preference of the reader.

In this case, I'd expect Music Collection to allow me to pick the content language. Let's say I want to publish the artist page in english and spanish, if the user is using the spanish content, I want to show the spanish page for that artist and so on.

I'd expect that on any 1.6 addon for Joomla. :p

Here is what i mean in J1.6

    hello

well, now I see what you mean :)

this is a good thing, but it's not an exact translation manager. actually, look at one of the first sentences on the tutorial you sent me: "This feature does not work as an association-type display where each content"

the thing is that to make this work, you need to actually DUPLICATE each item (in our case, albums, or artists) and then translate, and associate the language. so you would have each album/artist two times in your database... I'm not sure if that's very handy..

in any case, NO, this is not built in into MC for Joomla 1.6

we could custom make this for you, if you were interested.

HOWEVER, I still think that JoomFish is a much better solution! it avoids duplicating content...!!

    best,

I'ts just that I moved out from Joomfish into J1.6 because of this function.

Actually it's basically the same as Joomfish, you click the language you like and then the content is diplayed.

Hope it can be added in future releases, in the meantime I'll asses what else I might need before asking for a quote.

    Thanks
