Sorry to trouble you again so quickly, but after updating to the newest version of the music collection component for some reason the homepage on my website has disappeared and is showing text links to existing music collection songs/albums (but not as a module)

Direct links to specific pages seems to show some of the previous layout/configuration of my site. I made an attempt to uninstall the music collection in order to revert back to the previous version that was working fine. This attempted uninstall left my entire site blank and the joomla admin back end is also blank. I am at a loss as to why this has happened, I followed the installation instructions, set the correct order for the plugin and also acquired an API key or the JW player. Without access to the site or backend, I am unable to troubleshoot and I will have to restore the site backup in order to get my site back online.

Compared to getting the previous version of the component going, this was quite unpleasant. Are there any suggestions that you can offer regarding this? I know that extension distributors are quite reluctant to offer refunds, but if working with you to try and get new version of the component to work on my site doesn't work, would I be able to get a refund?

Please let me know what to try when you get a chance.

    hello

well... that's odd. First thing I can think of is the system plugin (did you install it?)

but in any case, not installing it should not reflect on a blank page... that's not normal.

what did you install, from the new version?

if you want, send me access at support@ joomlathat.com and I'll take a look right away!!

Yes, I installed the plugin and even made sure it was in the proper order based on the installation instructions. I installed the downloadable items included when I completed the order. I was able to check the plugins to make sure they were published, but wasn't able to publish any plugins before the site and administrator area went blank.

I can send the credentials when I get off work for you to log into the site. (I have restricted access to the backend to only specific IP address due to the number of brute force attacks so I'll have to disable it for you to access it.)

I was able to restore the site to how it was prior to the install but I lost several members who had just signed up for my site. After restoring it, I actually tried again and the same thing happened, so spent the entire day getting it back to how it was before.

I'll be off work around 4pm Pacific Standard Time and I will send the login info for the admin area and disable the restricted access.

    ok, will wait for it.

do you recognise a pattern in the two times that this happened. was it after installing any particular plugin?

I have emailed the credentials and also my recollection of the steps I took upon installing the updated elements. Hopefully it will help as you assist in troubleshooting what has occurred.

    Thanks

I apologize for that, there was one additional security feature I forgot to disable. I tested it from a different computer location to make sure the site admin was accessible.

You should be able to login now
