Hello,

I just upgraded my site today to the latest version of Music Collection and the JW Player isn't working. Here is a link to the music section on my site.

In addition to the music player not working, there are a lot of other strange behaviors such as the header banner on the page appearing in a strange location compared to other pages on the site, and the form elements on the music upload page not being displayed correctly that gives me the impression that things just aren't installed correctly, Can you help ?

    Hi Chris,

I'm unable to see the player, probably because I'm not logged in, I suppose. can you send me admin access and I'll take a look that everything is configured properly?

    there are 2 things failing:

1- the permissions to show the player were not correctly set. I changed that.

2- the API KEY you provided is not valid. Please see how to get a correct one here: http://www.joomlathat.com/documentation/music-collection/how-to-configure-the-jw-player

OK, I added the correct API KEY and the player now works. Thanks for your help in getting that working.

There are a couple other strange behaviors I am noticing. On all the pages that feature the Music Collection component, the header navigation is messed up. Compare the header navigation on this page to the header navigation on this page and you'll see the difference. Also, when I post comments on a song, the page doesn't automatically refresh to show the updated comment. It just keeps the page with the text box entry populated giving the impression that the comment was never posted but if you refresh the page you see that the comment was added. This could cause a lot of double comments throughout the site. Would appreciate your help in getting these additional issues resolved. Thanks.

    hello

about header navigation, this could be caused by CSS conflicts.

if you go to Music Collection configuration, check the BOOTSTRAP option (full boostrap, minimum, etc). please check it and change the options to see which one works best on your website.

"Mininum version 3" works best but it still has the problem with the header banner. "None" correctly places the banner where it should be but the rest of the items on the page aren't displayed properly. Can you think of anything else that I can change to fix the banner ?

Here is how the header banner should appear and how it appears on every other page on the site except pages that use the Music Collection component.

    I see

I can't see the banner on the main page though..

in any case, looks like the banner just "has no sufficient space" on the header...

additionally I see some "strict standards" notices on the top of the page.. can you set the error reporting to "simple" in joomla config?

Sorry for the delayed response but I had some issues with my server that I've now managed to resolve. Anyway, back to this issue, it looks like the banner dimensions on the pages containing Music Collection component are 898x245 while it is 940x150 on every other page and I can't seem to figure out why. Any idea what I could possibly change to fix this ? (please see attached photos).

only thing I can think of is the bootstrap options. What happens if you change the Bootstrap options in music collection global configuration? (try to disable bootstrap, or set it to minimum)

If I disable bootstrap it completely messes up the display in many ways. Minimum and Full show slightly different results but the annoying banner problem exists in both cases.

You have to edit Bootstrap in your template or MC... Or find your setting and then create a custom.css file and place your settings in this file and it will override the template and MC in order to get the size you want...

Place the custom.css file in the following folder:

    /templates/name of your template/css

This will set your bannner ad at the size in the custom.css file throughout your website...

You can place all your edits that you want to make to your website in this file because this file will load first so whatever you place in it will override everything else...

Also, I've modified the WebMin utility that will allow you to edit any file in the com_muscol directory, recursively. You'll see edit options next to each file. Thanks very much for your help.
