Nightmare scanning compilation

0
Please See http://www.cdmasterworks.co.uk/musicrealm/index.php?option=com_muscol&view=artists&letter=V

I have scanned my first compilation and now have 7 of the same album.

I changed all the artists to Various Artists manually but the album does not group the album into one.

Please advise what i have done wrong

If this is normal behaviour then i believe this is a serious flaw.

Kind regards
GOD
Michael :woohoo:

    hello Michael,

the correct way to scan a compilation is to use the "create album using this files" button, instead of the "process ID3 tags". this way you will enter the artist and the album name, and all songs will go in that album, instead of creating a new album for each song!
do you know what I mean?

    Hi Germi

Hi That worked fine apart from the song artist shows as Various Artist

How do I fix this. Must this be done manually, If So Not Good!

    Kind Regards

what you mean? you want each song to a different artist but actually linked to a "various artist" album?
in this case, you will have to do it manually this time I'm afraid, yes.

but I can see your point. we'll work to add this into ID3 tag importing

    thank you!

Oh Dear that is not good for compilations. It makes it pretty unuseable for large collections having to do it manually.

Most programs use Album Artist Field or a compilation checkbox like iTunes.

Maybe that kind of functionality could be used in the ID3 tag importing.

    Kind regards

That is one of my biggest concerns as well. I mentioned it along with a few other issues in this topic in the last 3 posts, but never saw any acknowledgement about this issue.
