Module position problem.

Okay so.

I have updated my com_muscol from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1 and then to 1.0.2 hoping that I'd come to bypass an older issue, but it seems that I didn't.

I placed a Music Collection » Artists / Detailed menu item and then tried to put some modules on the left.

They seem to work, but only for the main page of the component.

When I click on an album / band / song they disappear.

What can I do to solve this issue?

Users can't go back to the main page of my website. Only through the back function of the browser, but it is not an option.

use the "Default itemid" MC parameter to keep the itemid on the navigation through Music Collection.

just check what ID has the menu item you created and write that number on the parameter

then you are using it wrong. it works perfectly.

be sure that the modules you want to show up are active for that menu item

All is double checked. No wait.. triple checked.

I have made some changes to the component. Maybe they are the cause of this thing.

If I uninstall MC and reinstall it... will I lose all my added bands and albums?

no, you wont, but just for precaution, export the muscol database tables so you can restore the data in case anyting fails (wich wont happen)

by the way, when you loose navigation... is when you click on a module? or when you click on a link inside the component itself?

I ask you that because the modules also have their own "Itemid" parameter, wich you should fill up like the main MC one

When I click inside the component, I lose all my module positions.

Sorry for the delay, I had some other problems with my website.

I'm uninstalling MC now and reinstalling it.

I'll be back with a report for these actions.

    Over and out!

Okay so I did uninstall / reinstal MC. I haven't lost anything but time.

    The problem remains.

I have set the itemID in the component parameters and in the menu Item but it didn't work..

    Any other ideas ? ... I'm getting a little frustrated ..

    ok, it works now.

man, you have the itemid set to 9999. I seriously doubt this menu item exists. So here is the problem, you have filled the parameter with a no-sense number.

check what id has the menu item you want to link it to.

On the menu listing I had Item ID : 106, I went to MC Parameters and set up 106 there, and inside the menu item 106.

It seems to work now. I hope it really does.

Thank you Germi for yet another issue fixed.

    Best of luck !
