looks like this response went under the radar... sorry about that.

ok, that's no problem, we can do what I was telling you before, we can create a "simple form" to avoid all songs being loaded and this way you can upload images normally with normal loading times.

that's quite easy and quick to do but I need access to the site to perform a couple changes. if you want please send me access at support@ joomlathat.com

    Hello,

There already created albums with various number of songs, I want just to change a cover images of these albums.
I don't try to upload many images in same time. So, one image, one album, the image is heavy about 60KB. Whay 600 entries? I don't understand what here is a big query.

The problem is that the albums which contain more songs (example over 200 songs). the uploading of the album image is very hard. It take about 2-3 min or some times the image can't be uploaded.

The albums which contain less songs (under 100 songs) without problem can be changed the album image.

    hello!

well, this indicates clearly that it's not the image or the text field, the problem is simply that the server takes long to upload a form with 600 entries in it.. as it is logical. it has nothing to do with the image...

this would happen with any other big form as this one.. it's not a "bug" of Music Collection, it's just a very big query being sent to the server.. it takes time.

the only solution I can think of is to create a separate album form that does NOT include the song info, to keep it to the minimum, and use it to edit the info in the album (and upload the image)

I have uploaded image via FTP into images/albums folder, then I have copied the image title and paste it into the Front Slave field, clicked on save and wait, wait, wait...

Yes, I know what you mean.

I have tried as you said but no difference, still too slow. It seems that this is a bug.

    Hello!

It's not about programming, this is simply that the form being sent to the server is very large (because there are 200 or 600 entries in it). it's just about the internet connection, the server response time, etc.

I understand what you say about FTP, but that's not the only way: you can also use the Media Manager, for example, to upload files into the /images/albums/ folder (the media manager is built in into Joomla and it's something that the customer can use), and with this method, you can just upload the image and then assign the image name in to the album form... do you know what I mean?

Is there some way to solve this with programming?

The customer is not good in computers and using FTP, for the customer it will be science fiction.

Sorry, I am not happy with the answer.

well, that is the problem then.. it's not the album image, it's that the form is submitting 200 or 600 fields each time, and that take time...

what you can do in this case, if you prefer, is to upload the image using FTP, and then simply write down the name of the image file into the front sleeve field.

I see that the albums which have less songs, uploading of album images goes faster than the albums which have a lot of songs.
Actually some of the albums have about 60, some about 200, some about 600 songs, in total over 2000 songs.

    Hi,

There are 17 albums and about 135 songs per album or in total over 2000 songs. The albums images are not so heavy (average 60kb per image).
Thank you for the quick respond.

    Regards
