about the letter bar A-Z

0
a lot of users are saying that the navigation bar doesnt show OK

PLEASE check you template css files (usually called template_css.css on your template folder)

THATS NOT because of MC, if your template that adds some CSS properties that should be deleted

PLEASE search thorugh the forum before asking why your bar doesnt show up ok

I've answered the same question too many times... ;)

see this thread for instance

    on file

    templates/gk_musictube/css/template_css.css on line 1 you have

    ul li{
    line-height:170%;
    padding:5px;
    }

    delete this two properties

    I'm really stuck trying to display the 'letter bar A-Z' :(

    This is a new installation using Xampp 1.7.1 , Joomla 1.5.14 and Music Collection Pro on Windows XP.

    I haven't modified any css files.

    Only the 'extensions' included with Music Collection Pro have been installed.

    There is no 'letter bar A-Z' displayed.

    Is there an installation step I have missed? Does anything in 'administration' have to be set before it is displayed? The 'installation' document was very minimal with instructions , perhaps you could update it ;)

    Where should I start to look for a solution?

    Thank you.

    you only have to do one thing: on the backend area of MC, click on PARAMETERS button (up-right corner) and SAVE.

    this will initialise all the parameters of Music Collection , including the "show A-Z bar".

    I know the instructions are minimal ;) but the most important thing, wich is this I just told you, is said there ;)

    best,
    Germi

    Ok i seem to have a problem as well with the Letter Bar and do not know how to fix it.
    My knowledge off CSS or PHP or any coding for that matter is very limited.
    That is why use templates and joomla i guess ;)
    So if somebody could help me out with this that would be very nice.
    Thanks in advance.

    Check the problem @ www.lazyrocker.com then Music Collection in the TopMenu.

    open http://www.lazyrocker.com/templates/lazyrockerv3/css/template.css

    and go to line 1251 and remove the CSS properties for the LI element. that will solve most of your problems!

    Hi,

    Running a website for 1 artist, I would like to know if it is possible that the letter bar could be connected to the songs instead of artists?

    Hope to hear from you.

    Thanks and kind regards

    hello!

    I'm afraid not... :S it is only for artists. you would need custom coding for that..

    Hi Germi,

    Thank you for your super fast replies.

    A pity that the letter bar can not be connected to songs. Maybe a tip if you would make an update!! :woohoo: :P :kiss:

    I did manage to make my first change in renaming the Review into More Info. As I am a complete newbie in Joomla, I am afraid of dammaging things.

    Is it possible to change the size of the picture on the album site and to move the small thumbnail, to make it more alined with the Review?

    For the rest I am very pleased with MC. So now I can start filling the database with all the songs and albums of V.L. :)

    Thanks so far!

    With kind regards,
    P.

    hello!

    thanks! :) well, changing the size of the album image on the album view is just a matter of CSS... NO PROBLEM!!!! :)

    if you open /components/com_muscol/assets/album.css I think it's on line 45 or near that you find...

    .imatge_gran {
    border: 1px solid #CCCCCC;
    width: 430px;
    }

    this is the property that defines the size of that image.

    so..if you just decrease the width, you'll get what you want..

    for instance:

    width: 250px;

    does this help? give it a try!

    Thanks that does work.

    One more question (for now :) ): On the page "Songwriters" the cover is a bit out of line... And idea how to make that picture go more to the right?

    Thanks for your help!

    the best you can do is to add this CSS property in one of your files:

    table.taula_cap{
    width:100%;
    }

    I am not sure if we are talking about the same item.

    On the link that I did send you you can see that the cover of the record is almost glued to the title on the left.

    Strange thing is that in your demo, the picture is completely on the right side, which looks better.

    Can upload a screen-dumo if you want?
