Hi,

I've restricted expense manager to registered users only. The problem is that in google search, the component's link appears. Since it's a sensitive data, we would like to completely hide from search engines or pass error message saying "This is a restricted area" or something when visitor arrive from the link: https://room4hun.co.uk/hu/component/finances/?view=items&Itemid=112

Can you please help to resolve the issue?

Thanks

    hello,

well, the page is available but there are no records in it if you're not logged in..

if you want to restrict the page, you can set the link (the menu link) to registered users only.

    Hello,

Thanks for reply! Even though, the records are hidden, I'd still like to restrict any component related links to public. It is set available for registered users only for that menu link, so I don't understand how can it be reached from that link as visitor. Is there any other way to apply restriction for the component?

    Thanks

to apply restriction for the component, a bit of extra coding is necessary.

but.. if you apply the restriction to the menu item with ID=112... this should work...

I've created a menu link to the id=112 and restricted to super user only. Unfortunately the link still appears to public.

It's an external system link menu item with a link to the component's default item with id=112

    what you mean, external?

there's no "system menu" that points to it?

if there is, it should not look like "component/finances", but actually should include the menu's name...

anyway, if you want complete "block" if user is not logged in, a bit of coding is necessary
