Installation problems with content statistics

0
I purchased Content statistics two days ago & followed the instalation instructions i.e. installed the core plugin, the component file & the two suggested modules.
all uploaded successfully thru joomla 2.5.14 extension manager but i can see the plugin, the component but not the two modules. Can you help me troubleshoot i.e confirm the names they should show as, if there not there then whats the next step.

Secondly, i bought the package to see what members were viewing and downloading from the site. I would be grateful if someone could send me an idiots guide on how to set this up as i can find no documentation
thanks
Alan

    Hello Alan!

the modules are installed with names that contain the word "statistics", you can search for this.

about the "guide", have you read our article http://www.joomlathat.com/documentation/content-statistics/create-graphic-statistics ?

that should help you get started..

let me know how else I can help you!

Thank you for getting back to me
i already looked at the article you suggested, but i am unable to find the basic module options under the only module with the word statistics in it.
I sure i'm making a basic error but i would be grateful if you could have a look.

although the graphis presentation looks good i would be also be grateful if you could provide basic instructions on how to track who downloads or views a specific document. for example, a PDF document

    Hello,

I apologise, the link I sent you is not the correct one...
    this is the one: http://www.joomlathat.com/documentation/content-statistics/installation

    and also this one: http://www.joomlathat.com/documentation/content-statistics/create-graphic-statistics

I can't see the modules installed on your website.. have you installed them?

i'm not meaning to be rude but you've simply sent me links to information we have covered

in my initial question on the 8th i confirmed that i successfully uploaded the modules using the instructions you have kindly provided in the link & you ask me if i have installed them

And in another response i said the following:
although the graphis presentation looks good i would be also be grateful if you could provide basic instructions on how to track who downloads or views a specific document. for example, a PDF document & you send me the link to the graphics presentation

I again instaled the modules suggested in your installation instructions with the following results:

Module Install: Another module is already using directory: /home/content/82/11385282/html/www1/administrator/modules/mod_content_statistics
    Installing module was successful.

Unfortunately i am unable to still see the modules. If there is not an obvious resolution i'd be grareful if you could arrange a refund & i can look at alternative packages
    regards
    Alan

    Hello Alan,
I pointed you to those articles because I though they were what you need.
I sent you those because I logged in into your site and I could not see any of the modules installed. seeing that there were no modules installed, I asumed that maybe you just skipped that part (I mean, that you installed the plugins but not the modules).

I just logged into your site again, and I can now see the actually there are modules installed, but only backend modules (no frontend), that's why I told you that. I'm asuming that's correct..? (you only want graphics on the backend?)

as for your specific question: "provide basic instructions on how to track who downloads or views a specific document. for example, a PDF document"

answer: to track who downloads a document, etc.. first you need to tell me which component are you using to manage the documents. for example, if you use DOCman, for your document downloads, then what you need to do is install our DOCman plugin, which will track this information (document download an views). I can't see DOCman on your website, so clearly you're not using it... what are you using for your documents?

remember that to "track" anything from a component, you need a plugin (one of our plugins) that is compatible with that component, this way you can track actions related to it. I simply can't see what you're using to manage documents.

    thank you
yes its only the backend i'm interested in i.e. i would like to put a PDF document say on the home page and within jomsocial for users to download and view & for me to track who has downloaded or viewed the same.

If i put a pdf document on the homepage (channelfocus.org) for example, please download this whitepaper, is it possible with the content statistics package i have purchased to report (backend) those that have viewed or downloaded or do i need something additional.

i don't want to be restricted where i post these documents i.e. they could be in any page on the website or within the group section of jomsocial

    thanks for perservering

oh & how can i see the backend modules i have installed

    hello,

you can report those who have viewed that PDF, IF the PDF is managed by a component. you cannot just put the link "directly" (a direct link to the file), because that is not a trackable link. you need to have the document managed by a document manager (DOCman, PhocaDownload..) and then place a link to that component. do you know what I mean?

they can be in any place, there's no problem, but the link must be generated by the document manager.

about seeing the modules in the backend, this is what you're looking for: http://www.joomlathat.com/documentation/content-statistics/how-to-show-graphic-modules-in-the-backend-area

    hello Alan,

ok, the first thing is: have you already created this "document" in DOCman?
you need to create it and then place the link where you want the people to download. if you have our content statistics DOCMan 2 plugin installed, then the download will be tracked. let me know if that helps.

How can i now view the results backend, for example, if you downloaded the one PDF i have put up for a demo, how can i then look at the results?

i bought the statistics package & Docman to produce statistics to track who downloads the document
Where can i see the information in the backend that you downloaded the document.

yes if i also put a word document on the site to be tracked where would i see the information on who downloaded the word document

    Happy New Year
With your help I have been able to set up a document for download (using the docman component) and view the results in Content Statistics & how to ad country and city.

In a previous correspondence you confirmed the following:

I just logged into your site again, and I can now see the actually there are modules installed, but only backend modules (no frontend), that's why I told you that. I'm assuming that's correct..? (You only want graphics on the backend?)

I now want to produce general graphics and generate reports.

You mentioned above that I only installed backend modules. Can you confirm the name and where to find this backend module & more importantly, once activated where can I view the results in the backend.

I also plan to use the plug-in for jomsocial and easy blog. When I activate these plugins, where will I see the results of, for example, group views in jomsocial and register entry views with easy blog?

    Regards
    Alan

    hello

you can find the "frontend modules" in My Downloads area, just like you found the admin modules. the only difference is that in the NAME of the module, it doesn't appear the word "admin"

you will see the results in the same place you're seeing the results for DOCman. it's all in one place! :)

Thank you for the quick reply
I want to use a mix of the frontend and backend so I would be grateful if you could help me with both

    FRONTEND:
I have installed the 3 modules: compare evolution in time, evolution in time, ranking

After looking at all three I can see that you have to select a component, in my case either docman or com_community (jomsocial).

How can I select joomla articles and modules that are on the general site?

Can you confirm - I only select one component at a time i.e. I can set the evolution in time module to generate stats on com_community but I won’t be able to generate stats on docman at the same time.

Can you confirm - To see these stats on the frontend I simply activate the modules and position them wherever on my site?

    BACKEND
I have successfully installed the same three modules that end in Admin but I cannot see these within module manager. You mentioned previously that you seen these, could you confirm where?

I followed the article to create my 1st graphic stats on the following page http://ukitadesign.com/component/content/article?id=71

However I am unable to see any results.

I have attached screen shots of the article & the evolution in time module configuration. I would be grateful if you could look over it to identify why it does not display on the page

    Hello!

I confirm that you can only select 1 component at a time if you use EVOLUTION IN TIME. however the "compare module" lets you create several graphs in one single graphic.

yes, I confirm that you simply activate the modules in a position to see them in frtonend.

I can't see any screenshots attached.. in that page I only see "test". can you show me what you created?

thank you for the confirmation that i can only select i component

    i'll attach the screenshots again.

If you don't receive them again i can confirm that the article name = site statistics & i have configured the evolution in time module the same as the article you provided & all i se is test as well

Alternatively is there an email address i could send the screenshots

    Can you also confirm:
BACKEND I have successfully installed the same three modules that end in Admin but I cannot see these within module manager. You mentioned previously that you seen these, could you confirm where?
