I found nothing in the forum, when I install the upgrade from the 2.0 a.. to 2.0.1 I get this error "XML Parsing Error at 1:1. Error 4: Not well-formed (invalid token)" I tried to re-download the update but message persist but seems that the installation is successful.
What does it depend?

0if you get infinite number of Notices then you just need to disable error reporting!
notices are normal, you just have to disable error reporting on joomla config panel
the XML parsing error is no big deal, is a recurrent notice when installing some modules in joomla that were zipped using mac, but they install correctly anyway.
the warning on discogs can be disabled also disabling error reporting.
anyway soon will be an upgrade to automatically disable this warning from discogs -

after this, when i try to search with discogs the old warning occurs again.
then, if i try to load data from discogs, the form is filled but full of notice and warning... the error reporting is set to 0 (nothing). The browser cache is empty, the joomla cache is empty...
same in the site view. -

0I started from scratch installing Joomla on a remote server (HostMonster php 5->)
I installed MC 1.5.x to 2.0.1 upgrade
now when I try an album Discogs, I get an error like this

I wrote to HostMonster to see if mod_deflate is enabled and this is their answer.
We do have mod_deflate on our servers but our customers unfortunately don't have any access to it. It is only enabled when our system has enough resources to run it. This should not affect your ability to fopen .xml files though. If you are having this problem then you need to make sure that the xml file exists in the proper location and that it has 644 permissions. If this doesn't fix your issue then please tell us where we can go to see your problem so we can investigate further.

0hm.... it has nothing to do with .xml files: it cannot open the xml file, because it is not created, because the discogs petition didnt got through...
if you send me joomla admin access and ftp access I'll take a look and see what I can do... but I can't garantee anything... mod_deflate is necessary! not because of Music Collection, but because Discogs only accepts petitions encoded with gzip.. (that's what the mod_defalte is for)

PROBLEM SOLVED
the problem was a different thing. it was just that the function tries to write a file on the /administrator folder, but this folder had no writing permissions. so I just changed it to write the file indo /administrator/components/com_muscol/ instead, and now it works perfect!
