I figured it was way over my head...but it never hurts to ask.

well, it surely can be done adding some extra coding here and there...

but its a bit work, I cannot just tell you how in a couple lines :S

to get an idea:

you need to have a new field on the songs database table, for 30 sec previews

you need to add backend administration for those new fields, including file handling

you need to modify several frontend files, so they show previews to non-registered, full songs to registered (album view, song view, songs view, search view, playlist view)

and something else I probably I'm missing

so, its not a simple job.. involves many files, many layouts, and also the database tables..
