Hello. I wish to know about music collection component the follow doubts:
1) if user or admin have to pay to play songs and put informations from discogs database;
2) if users can upload their songs and videos directly from their pc;
3) how admin can prevent the copyright's violation;
4) if user that uploaded songs and videos can avoid that others download or play his files;
5) if it is possible to see backend demo component.

Thanks.

Best regards

    2) yes it is, all you need to do is download a skin from longtailvideo (http://www.longtailvideo.com/addons/skins) and with just a tiny modifition on the plugin, you can use the skin! :) I'll help you with that

    3) no, it does not. since ACL will be fully implemented in joomla 1.6, we will wait until 1.6 to add this feature. however... its easy for you to create a menu item "create an album" or "create an artist" that only "regitered" or "special" users can access... (the only user types availalbe on joomla 1.5)

    Most sites do not like when one direct links to their content as it steals their bandwidth. There are some sites like youtube.com that don't mind though.

    A good source for music that has a more open license is http://www.jamendo.com/en/albums They have music there that is both free to listen to with limitations and some that is free to share without limitations. No big label artist there, but its a great place to find some good indie and smaller bands that share their music.

    Ok. So i can set the option that allows user only to link mp3 from other site, right?
    1)Can you suggest me some site where user can link mp3?
    2)Is your mp3 player theme customizable?
    3) Do your component have a acl rule to allow to upload file and create album only some user joomla level? For example only author user can upload and create album and not registered
    Thanks a lot.

    Hello
    1) no, not at all. Remember: the discogs facility is just one tool more used on the backend of your site to help you add album info quickly. Theres no advertisement at all, its a 100% free search and import system
    2) yes, its totally allowed. Music Collection is prepared for this! :)

    1) Is there any advertisement in my site from discogs website?
    2) Is it allowed to link songs file from another site via URL or do users have to upload any song from their hd in my hd site space directly?

    Let me know please.
    Thanks

    hello!

    1 - songs are not "played" from discogs: only album and song information is retrieved, NOT the files! and NO, they dont have to pay to use discogs: its a free service. you just have to register to get an API key. very simple.
    2 - yes
    3 - mmm... I can't really answer this question. that is only up to the admin.. I cannot know what can he do about this! :)
    4 - there's only a GLOBAl setting. you can allow all or none songs to be download or played, but not choose this "one by one"... you would need custom work to have one-by-one settings.
    5 - ou can see some screenshots here: http://www.joomlamusicsolutions.com/en/features/administration-area.html

    (NOTICE: we are upgrading this article to show MORE new screenshots of the new version!)
