We've purchased Music Collection & Content Statistics a few day ago.
I must get my page look exactly like the demo site, as that's what my client needs ASAP.
I've installed and activated both components and plugings. But still I don't see the map or graphs on music page.

http://akseda.com/index.php/music/s/2-reza-sadeghi/3-reza-sadeghi-masoud-mohammad-nabi-asemon

The documentation on these components has been quite disappointing. I read through forums but the replies were either outdated or not clear.
I need a clear, step-by-step instruction as how to achieve this.

Please help

thanks

    Hello Kamy,

when you say "exactly like our demo site", are you refering to the album page? or maybe the homepage?
please let me know so I can point you in the right direction

just.. we don't have any Maps on the music page!

about the graphs, it's all about creating the modules in the right positions, like it's explained in here: http://www.joomlathat.com/documentation/music-collection/album-profile-in-music-collection-21

for the album page, the module position for graphics is called muscol_album_stats

let me know if that helps!

    Hi Germi:

    Thanks for your reply.

Basically we bought this collection because we liked everything we saw on the demo pages.

We want to get one page like this:
    http://www.joomlathat.com/demo/music-collection
    AND this:
    http://www.joomlathat.com/demo/music-collection/p/pink-floyd/wish-you-were-here

I am an experienced developer, but I'm not experienced with Joomla! I was hoping to get instructions as how to get all the modules, features, ...to show up on our pages.

I realize I have to change CSS to make it look nice on our site, and I've no problem with that, but first I need to get everything on the page.

I got the map to show up on a song page, but it's not showing any data:
    http://akseda.com/index.php/music/s/2-reza-sadeghi/3-reza-sadeghi-masoud-mohammad-nabi-asemon

I also activated the Map on other pages, but got errors:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/akseda99/public_html/modules/mod_content_statistics_map/tmpl/map.php on line 51
Warning: Division by zero in /home/akseda99/public_html/modules/mod_content_statistics_map/tmpl/map.php on line 76

You can see those errors here:
    http://akseda.com/index.php/videos

I am under lots of pressure from my client, so your help is greatly appreciated.

    thanks
    Kamy

    Dear Kamy,

    let's go step by step

    1) to achieve a music homepage like ours http://www.joomlathat.com/demo/music-collection.
basically you need to follow this instructions file: http://www.joomlathat.com/documentation/music-collection/custom-homepage
in our case, we have created a couple nice modules: "featured artists" and also "Albums". what you need to do is to create instances of those modules in your Joomla Module Manager, and place them in new "position". let's call that position "music1" for example (this is basic joomla module configuration..). on those modules, select your preferences (such as thumbnail size, what albums to select, etc) and enabled them.

then, on music collection configuration, there where it says "Main page", you have the fields "introduction text" and "introduction text 2".
here you can load modules using {loadposition music1}, and that will load your custom modules that you just created into that page.

all this is exaplained on the link I posted ;)

    2) to configure the album page like this: http://www.joomlathat.com/demo/music-collection/p/pink-floyd/wish-you-were-here
the process it's similar, only now the position is called "muscol_album_stats" (the module position). let's focus first on point #1 because if you can do 1, you will be able to do 2 easily.

    3) about the MAP: ok, first thing you need is to see if the Geo-location is being tracked. open your plugin "System - Content Statistics". is "geolocation" enabled? is the API key correctly inputted in the field?

I hope this clears some questions. if there's something you still can't find, please drop me a line at support@ joomlathat.com

    Hi Germi:

    Thanks for your response.
I'm still working on my site to get it to work.
One thing I can tell you about the MAP is that the website providing the API (ipinfodb.com) has disabled registration ! Not sure when they'll bring it back.

Is there any other service provider I can use to get API key so that it works with the Map?

    please let me know

    thanks

    hello Kamy,

I've noticed this as well a couple days ago. (about ipinfodb.com)
in theory they should enable it back soon.. but there's nothing I can really do about this. I'm just waiting as you are.. this is the only free IP system we can use.

so, for now, please don't use the MAP until they enable registrations again and you can obtain a key...

sorry for the trouble! not much I can do about this really.. :S

    hi Germi:

Thanks for the reply, but I am quite disappointed. It means we bought a feature that was dependent on third party service, but this was not mentioned anywhere.
The lack of documentation is also not helpful. You've built a very cool plugin/component for Joomla and it's not exactly cheap, yet the documentation is quite lacking. However, since you do reply promptly it makes up for that I guess...

Is there any other IP system that would work with the Map? I pay for it if I have to.
The map was one of the features that was really attractive for us, so I really must get it to work.

    let me know
    thanks

    Dear Kamy,

I can understand your frustration, but every system in the world that uses IP geolocation will rely on a third party service...! that's the only way to actually know where an IP is from, you need a service that has the "tables" that cross-check the info and come up with the location, given an IP.

You're right about the documentation, it should be more extensive specially for Content Statistics. You made a good point and I've been working on some new help articles for CS. hopefully I will release them this week.

the ipinfodb actually has an associated "paid" service, which (that's whay they say) it's a bit more accurate. but that won't solve the problem because the registration is the same.

Again, this is only temporary, they have turned down the registration just temporarily.

what about this? since all the registration is only for obtaining and API key, I can share mine with you, until they registration is open again (which should be really soon, maybe tomorrow.. hopefully)

this way you can use the system, and when then re-open the system, you can proceed to register and then use your API key. but meanwhile, you can use mine, that's no problem. Please write privately to me at support@ joomlathat.com and I'll share it with you (I don't want to post it publicly on the forum..)

    Hi Germi:

Your suggestion would help us greatly in short term, I have to demo the new site to my client by tomorrow, so using your API key temporarily will solve that issue for us. I will email you in a minute to ask for it.

I have also emailed ipinfodb.com to see when they think the registration will be activated, hopefully soon.

    thanks

    Hi Germi:

Thanks for the key, but I still haven't been able to get the map going properly !
I've enabled geolocalization & set the API key, but the map remains empty !

I've used 2 different instances of it on the following link, one with debug on:

    http://akseda.com/index.php/music/s/2-reza-sadeghi/1-reza-sadeghi-sadetar-az-ouni-ke-fekr-mikardam-ft-meysam-hajjar

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

By the way, I think I'm getting the hang of your system slowly, as you can see on the link page :)
Still needs CSS for proper design, but it's getting there

    thanks

I can see ;) you're getting there! good job.

about the MAP: do you think you can provide me joomla acces to the site?
the map is not showing anything because no data is being loaded to it. so the first thing to see is.. is the geolocation being recorded on Content Statistics? if it is, then the problem is probably only some missconfiguration on the module parameters...

what you mean? I think you're not posting on the right thread... the MAP is a module of Content Statistics, an extension which you don't have...
