Hello,
It is very urgent problem for me; Every file (*.mp3 or *.mp4 files downloaded in .bin format)
Some visitor when click to download button they can not download mp3 or clip file, on their phone they see *.bin file downloading.
And after download they can not open mp3 or clips.
Why it is happening and how can I fix this problem?

You can see attached file their phone's screenshoot.

    I found that:
If visitor phone or mobile browsers older version, mp3 or mp4 can not download with right file type. Every file downloading with *.bin
But if visitor update mobile browsers this problem will solve.

So my new question is: How can we modify our website and visitor don't have to update their phone browsers.

I have never seen this before. what you mean "update mobile browser"?
the file served on the download is always the "song" file (either mp3 or mp4 or whatever), a bin file is never created by Music Collection.. this must be a failure of some phones only... can you send me a link to the page where I can download this?

Yes I can send, check this link:www.aydymcylar.com This is our website. And if possible check it with mobile phone and mobile browsers. If your browsers up to date you will not see problem. But if your phone have older version of browser (Chrome or Default Browser) your phone starting to download as a bin file.

I guess my mobile browser is "up to date" because I can't see the problem. there's nothing we can do about this, this looks like a bug on the browser you're mentioning.

I saw some same error on another websites so they fixed lke that.

    Please read this:

    Link 1: http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/47827/chrome-browser-in-android-always-renames-downloaded-file-to-download-bin

This issue is caused by the fact that the Android Chrome browser doesn't understand UTF-8 encoding. I was UTF-8 encoding the file names since the desktop version of Chrome requires this. It turns out that file names don't need to be UTF-8 encoded for non-ascii characters for the Android Chrome browser. I was able to successfully download a file using Android Chrome with Korean characters in it without encoding it with UTF-8.

I think we should change something for UTF-8 encoding but which file and how I can edit I dont know.

Hello again, this problem getting urgent for me,

So I created new (for testing) website and install only joomla and musicol component and plugins.
    And I created 1album and 1 song.

When I click to download button on computer (Chrome) everything is ok, download starting.

But again when I click to download button with my phone default browser I see index.php file downloading.

    Please check my test website:

I don't know why this is happening, it's not an error of music collection.. the way you decribe it, it will happen with any download file with the same URL structure, if it's really related to UTF8 encoding...

All I can do is try to replace the file links for direct links so they don't go through the index.php file.
if you want to send me FTP access at support@ joomlathat.com we will try that.

      Hello Again,

We checked on our test page. It is working. Thank you so much,
Now, can you show me here, what did you do exactly? Because we want to implement those same settings to our real live website.
      Thank you so much.
