Hello,

I tried Content Statistics more than a year ago, and there were constant errors in all sorts of situiations.

I now paid for a new subscription, and I have had nothing but errors since.

Tonight I intsalled the latest version of Joscial, and Content Stats stopped my site from working (both frontend and backend).

Here is the error message:

Warning: simplexml_load_file(): /home/wwwfutur/public_html/sitemap.xml:1: parser error : Document is empty in /home/wwwfutur/public_html/libraries/cms/installer/installer.php on line 1936

Warning: simplexml_load_file(): in /home/wwwfutur/public_html/libraries/cms/installer/installer.php on line 1936

Warning: simplexml_load_file(): ^ in /home/wwwfutur/public_html/libraries/cms/installer/installer.php on line 1936

Warning: simplexml_load_file(): /home/wwwfutur/public_html/sitemap.xml:1: parser error : Start tag expected, '<' not found in /home/wwwfutur/public_html/libraries/cms/installer/installer.php on line 1936

Warning: simplexml_load_file(): in /home/wwwfutur/public_html/libraries/cms/installer/installer.php on line 1936

Warning: simplexml_load_file(): ^ in /home/wwwfutur/public_html/libraries/cms/installer/installer.php on line 1936

Fatal error: Call to a member function __toString() on a non-object in /home/wwwfutur/public_html/plugins/contentstats/com_installer/com_installer.php on line 97

And this is the error message afterwards when trying to access frontend and backend:

Fatal error: Class 'EParameter' not found in /home/wwwfutur/public_html/administrator/components/com_autotweet/helpers/logger.php on line 36

Honestly guys, I just want my money back...As i said above, I tried Content Stats over 1 year ago and had the same issues, and now today same issues.

Now I gotta go fix this issue! Really NOT happy or impressed!

    Hello,

    first of all, to disable CS, you would need to do it via MySQL, simply going to the table #__extensions and disabling it.

    BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY: the main error you're describing is not from CS...

    I understand you are very frustrated and upset because something is not working on your website

    please, just look at the error you're getting, it's caused on the file: administrator/components/com_autotweet/helpers/logger.php

    this is a component called COM_AUTOTWEET. is this something you installed?

    then, there seems to be an issue, in this case in a CS file, indeed, which is with the funciton "__to String()" as you can see. this is probably about the PHP version being used. again, the software works good but aparently there is a function missing on your PHP installation. I'll be glad to take a look at it

    Hello,

    I am VERY aware of the 2nd error message I sent you and what it says!

    READ THE FIRST ROUND OF ERRORS!!!!!! I noyice you made no mention of the first round of errors...why would that be???

    This is where it started!

    As stated, I have seen MANY errors from Content Stats. Even in the last few weeks i have seen MANY error messages when installing the same extensions I have been using for years now without any prior issue, it seems there is major issues issues with the logging of Content Stats espeically when it comes to the logging of installation.

    The file administrator/components/com_autotweet/helpers/logger.php has not changed in ANY way from the previous version of joscial (autotweet).

    And honestly, i am having a nightmare trying to get my site working again!

    And by the way, I am not good with phpmyadmin, how do i disable a table?

    Dear Friend,

    I read all your post, don't worry about it. I was just pointing out that there was an error external to CS.

    Please, at this point I have to ask you to take it a bit easy... just talk normally and we will get it solved, that's our job! we are here to help. Please, it looks like you are really upset, it almost seems like you're screaming through your keyboard ;) there's no need for that...

    besides of that, the error "
    Warning: simplexml_load_file(): in /home/wwwfutur/public_html/libraries/cms/installer/installer.php on line 1936" (which is a warning, not an error), I can't know if it comes from CS because this is a joomla file. I really need to take a look "in place"

    it looks you're having issues with the com_installer extension of CS. that doesn't mean that "the whole system doesn't work..."

    let's just disable this plugin, and they work to figure out what the issue is.

    if you want me to log in to your phpmyadmin I will be glad to do it for you. If you prefer to do it yourself I can tell you how.

    but, one final thing.. the "com_autotweet" issue is for sure not caused by Content Statistics.... I haven't heard from this plugin before, and CS doesn't integrate with it.. again, if you want to give me access, I'll check it all out.

    As i stated, nothing works!

    Can't access the backkend or frontend.

    I disabled your content stats installer plugin by renaming the folder:

    /public_html/plugins/system/contentstats

    to

    /public_html/plugins/system/contentstats_bak

    This enabled the FRONTEND to work, but the backend still does not work.

    I can get to the Joomla lohgin screen, but once logged in, i am shown a completly blank white screen..

    I am upset cause this isnt the first time your software has brought my entire website down. I have developed Joomla sites for over 12 years now, and consistently your software brings my sites down and throws errors all the time. Can you blame me for being upset?

    And, what is a little annoying, is your software is expensive (regardless of expensive or not, its commercial), but you only have a public forum..so i can't send my website logins/ftp/ etc logins, which makes this whole process even longer.

    Oh, by the way, this website has duplicates at different domain names (with different logo, words, etc), but templates, extensions, etc are the same.

    I have been using AutoTweetNg PRO for years now and NEVER had an issue..I use the Joscial version. I have Joscial on all my other duplicate sites and I have NO ISSUES. The only difference is that i have not installed your software on these sites, as I wanted to be cautious given that your software has brought my sites down in the past, and in the last few weeks I have seen many errors messages (I have even reported some to you).

    My feelings are that the content stats installer plugin stopped part of Joscial (autotweet) from being installed.

    I would love you to fix this. its 2:30am where i am, and this is the last thing I was expecting to be going through

    Hello,

    sorry if the private messaging is not clear enough (it's on my signature at least...)
    you can send me the details at support@ joomlathat.com. I asumed you knew that because we have spoken over email before... sorry about that. In any case, you have it now.

    it definitely looks like the issue you're having is related ot the content stats installer plugin.

    if you can send me the access details (joomla, FTP and phpmyadmin if possible), I will fix this and then figure out what's the issue with the plugin.

    By they as a FYI,

    In your signature as such, it says 'Chief Software Engineer at JoomlaThat! - support@joomlathat.com .

    I see your email, but nothing about private messaging.

    Other Joomla developers who only offer public forums for their commercial extensions, they give us the ability to either:

    1) add ftp, joomla backend logins, etc via fields in the initial new thread submit form

    2) offer a 'hide content for admin' button in the wysiwyg, so we can add our logins between the 'hide content for admin' tags.

    Dont know if this is possible in your support software, but it makes for less time spent by all involved, which is always a good thing in this software development world we live in.

      that's a great suggestion. I will check if there's a nice extension we can add to make this sharing of information easier. thanks!
